Two places to shoot at Haneda

An observation deck above the apron, and a park directly under the approach path. The same airport gives you completely different pictures.

The observation decks

Looking down on the apron lets you frame a whole aircraft together with the scale of the airport. Terminals 1 and 2 face west, so on a clear evening Mount Fuji appears behind the buildings.

Keihinjima Tsubasa Park

Arriving aircraft pass directly overhead. The view up at an aircraft's underside exists only here. A promenade runs along the water, with the terminals visible across the channel.

After the sun goes down

Haneda has a long night. Taxiway lights and terminal windows carry the frame well past sunset, and panning turns those lights into streaks.
