When to book LUMA Path
When you can't be with family or friends every day
I can cover the days you can't. On the days you're free, you're welcome to come along. You can chat with me in Japanese as we go. Pick from 16 areas, including Asakusa, Kamakura and Kyoto. Each area has its own English page, so you can send the link straight to your guests.
When colleagues or clients have time between meetings
On the day they land, or before their flight home, a half day of 3 to 4 hours covers one neighbourhood at an easy pace. I guide one group at a time, up to six people. I left Japan for Brisbane in January 2011, in my last year of junior high, and stayed for nine years. I'll do all the explaining in English, so you don't have to.

Who runs LUMA
"Change where you are and you change who you become."
I was born in Aichi, and at 15 I moved to Brisbane, Australia, where I lived for nine years. I spent my formative years there, from junior high school through to university graduation, and I also worked at a university in Brisbane. My strength is understanding other cultures and bringing people from different backgrounds together. Since coming home to Japan in 2020, I've put my Japanese and English to work in a wide range of settings.

For photography, I'll come to you anywhere in Greater Tokyo (travel is charged at cost outside Yokohama, Kawasaki and Tokyo's 23 wards). Private tours cover 16 areas across Japan.
I've run 25 tournaments in Tokyo since 2022, with 379 entries in total. Professional players and aspiring pros take part, and players at intermediate level and above come to test their game. It's health mahjong, with no alcohol and no betting. Everyone gets a participation gift, and there are prizes for the top finishers. Seats, times and fees are set for each event and listed on its own page (in Japanese).
Yes. LUMA Path is a private tour where I guide visitors from overseas in English. You can choose from 16 areas, including Asakusa, Kamakura, Hakone and Kyoto. You can book half a day, a full day or two days, for up to six people per group. You pay one price for the whole group. I quote in USD, CAD, AUD, NZD, GBP or EUR, or in USD for other currencies. Quotes are free. If there's anything you can't eat, tell me when we first talk.
Use the contact form, linked at the bottom of this page. It's open 24 hours a day, and I reply within three business days. We can talk on Zoom or in person, and the first 30 minutes are free. You don't need to have picked a service yet.
You can pay by bank transfer or credit card. For LUMA Craft, bank transfer is the standard method. If you'd prefer to pay by card, I'll send an invoice with a card payment option.
