Shooting Notes

Where to shoot in Atami

Where you stand and when you go changes the picture completely.

AKAO Forest

A garden that climbs the hillside. A swing set against the sea, a single great tree, plenty of room to shoot wide. The flowers change with the season.

Kiunkaku

A Taisho-era villa open to visitors. Tatami rooms, a stained-glass hall, a garden. No tripods, so everything is handheld on the light from the windows.

Getting around

A shuttle bus runs from Atami Station to AKAO Forest; Kiunkaku is walkable. Gardens in the morning and the villa in the afternoon follows the light best.

Commissions: landscape shoots start at ¥22,000 (tax incl.) for half a day. Tell me where and when, and we build the plan from there.
